News:World Hickory Festival
Following on from the successful Willie Park Celebration in March, we are now looking forward to the 6th World Hickory Open and the third World Hickory Festival. The Festival commences on 20th September at our original venue, Musselburgh Old Links, site of 6 Opens in the late 19th century, and the oldest continuous playing surface in the world. It progresses along the East Lothian coast to Craigielaw, Donald Steel's excellent modern links and home to the World Hickory for three years. From there we move to an exciting new venue at Archerfield Links where we play the Fidra course. Archerfield itself was the site of a golf course in the mid 19th century till just before the second World War and was recently re-developed and designed by D.J. Russell.
On our final venue we return to Gullane for the World Hickory Championship, this time playing both Nos. 2 and 3 courses. No.3, this year, is celebrating 100 years since it was designed by Willie Park Jr.
